Upcoming Events at Grand Oaks Resort

Admission is always FREE (unless otherwise stated) and Spectators are always welcome!

We do provide seating, however, you may bring your own lawn chair for field events if you prefer.

Covered Arena does have some stadium seating. Handicap Parking available by Covered Arena.

If you bring a pet, we kindly ask that it be kept on a leash.

MUDDY PRINCESS

April 28, 2019

Join us at Grand Oaks Resort for the Muddy Princess event! Muddy Princess is an outdoor 5km (3.1 mile) obstacle mud run for women - and women ONLY!

Our event is for Princesses of all sizes, ages and fitness levels. We don’t focus on fastest times or competitions, we focus on fun so be prepared to run, walk, crawl, climb, slide, balance and laugh your way along our course for an amazing “girls dirty day out!”

18-20 OBSTACLES, MEDALS, T-SHIRTS & GEAR, GOODIE BAGS AND LOTS OF MUD!

The event venue opens at 7:00 am for registration with the first wave starting at 8:00 am and continuing every 20 minutes (8:00, 8:20, 8:40 etc) up until the last wave of the day. Please choose your preferred start time when choosing your ticket. Spectators are welcome!

The Southern Drive

May 10, 11 & 12, 2019

Driving Derby tournaments. This three-day event is for competitors but spectators are welcome to view the events.

The Southern Drive at Grand Oaks is a Florida Whips affiliated weekend with lots of fun and interesting activities planned.

Friday, May 10th: "Trail Pace" Competition (8:30 am to 10:45 am -- starts across from Show Office)

Saturday, May 11th: "Scrabble Cones" Competition (8:30 am to 11:00 am at Polo Field)

Saturday, May 11th: Jackpot Derby Team Challenge (2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Covered Arena)

Sunday, May 12th: "Practice" Dressage Test (9:00 am to 12:00 noon at Dressage Ring near Berry Cottage)

Dressage is a competitive equestrian sport, defined by the International Equestrian Federation as “the highest expression of horse training“, where “horse and rider are expected to perform from memory a series of predetermined movements.” Competitions are held at all levels from amateur to the World Equestrian Games. Its fundamental purpose is to develop, through standardized progressive training methods, a horse’s natural athletic ability and willingness to perform, thereby maximizing its potential as a riding horse. In modern dressage competition, successful training at the various levels is demonstrated through the performance of “tests”, prescribed series of movements ridden within a standard arena. Dressage competitions consist of a series of individual tests with an increasing level of difficulty.
